GATEWAY TRACON
LETTER TO AIRMEN

Terminal Radar Approach Control (TRACON) will continue to provide
radar vectors
and separation service for practice instrument approaches for
the Spirit of S1.Louis (SUS), S1.
Louis Regional (ALN), S1.Louis Downtown-Parks (CPS), and Scott
Air Force Base/MidAmerica
(BLV) Airports.
This
additional service is being provided for the purpose of achieving
added safety through more
organized and controlled operations in terminal areas where
practice instrument approaches are
conducted. VFR aircraft making simulated instrument approaches
are expected to remain in
VFR conditions throughout the approach procedure. The controller
will also include an
instruction "MAINTAIN VFR."
Unless
otherwise instructed by ATC the following frequencies are to
be used:
SUS--126.5 MHz (VHF) or 254.3 MHz (UHF)
ALN--124.2 MHz (VHF) or 353.9 MHz (UHF)
CPS--123.7 MHz (VHF) or 371.87 MHz (UHF)
BLV--125.2 MHz (VHF) or 281.5 MHz (UHF)
After
establishing radio contact with S1.Louis Approach Control, advise
the controller which
approach you wish to execute, and what your intentions are upon
completion of the approach,
(e.g., full-stop landing, stay in the pattern, etc.)
